Custom "Embedded" OEM Drive Solutions
One of Automotion's unique strength's as a drive supplier is our
demonstrated ability and willingness to apply our drive design and manufacturing
capabilities to your unique and demanding brushless drive needs for the most cost
effective OEM solutions. We apply our expertise in power, analog and digital electronics
to provide you with the best total drive solution at the lowest possible production cost.
We call these solutions "embedded" OEM drive solutions.

Automotion's OEM Specialty Drive Products group specializes in the
design, development, and manufacture of custom and unique brushless servo drives and
associated systems for OEM's. Together with Automotion's standard products plus those of
our parent company's (Infranor Inter AG) we offer a wide range of standard and semi-custom
pre-engineered drive solutions. With our Infranor affiliates we can provide a unique total
motion control solution from motors, to servo-amplifiers, to motion control interface, all
from a single committed group of motion control professionals.
Since 1983 we have been providing our OEM customers with the latest in brushless drive
technology for the lowest manufacturing cost possible. It is Automotion's Specialty Drive
Product's principle goal to work with our OEM customer's to jointly create superior drive
solutions that help them distinguish themselves from their competition.
Using field-proven drive design building blocks that can be quickly and affordably
modified to your unique packaging and/or performance needs, we achieve superior drive
solutions to other competitive standard products at better cost.
Applications
The following are just of few of the many custom and embedded
OEM drive solutions and associated drive products that we have developed for our customers

 Two-axis coil balancer drive
This compact, two axis 230 VAC input brushless drive was
developed for a manufacturer of dynamic balancing equipment. Each axis controls a single
balancing coil, rotated about a central hub to provide instantaneous corrective balancing
of any rotating load. The customer previously used two individual brush DC servo drives
but needed to reduce space and cost of his solution. Automotion completed the entire
custom project from initial consultation to manufacturing start-up within a four-month
timeframe and cut the customers overall drive solution cost by better than 50%.

 Voice Coil motion controller / drive
This custom single-axis motion controller / low voltage drive
was developed for a manufacturer of brushless voice coil actuators. Combining Automotion's
knowledge of low power, low voltage brushless drive technology with our motion control
programming capability, we are able to offer a very compact, low cost all-in-one
controller solution for this expanding motion control market. |

 Custom packaged high-speed Sensorless spindle
drive
Using state-of-the-art flux vector sensorless control algorithms
this custom packaged single-axis sensorless velocity controller drives a PM brushless
motor to 5000 RPM with speed control accuracy to within +/- 5 RPM over one revolution of
the motor. All without any active feedback from the motor. In addition to the precision
speed control requirement, this customer also needed special features such as active
in-rush limiting, a custom formatted serial communications interface, and strict EMC
package compliance. |

 3.5 kW Power Factor Correction Module
When one of our OEM Medical customer's needed more voltage head
room for their high-speed centrifuge motors they turned to Automotion for help. Our
solution was a custom 400 VDC 3.5 kW power factor correction module to front-end their
power deliver system. Power factor correction is desirable in any motion control
application that demands optimum utilization of available line currents. |

 Custom Drive Module Assembly
This custom drive module assembly includes a high voltage
brushless drive, heatsink, integral fan, and AC power conversion circuitry, all in a
compact single pre-tested module assembly designed to the customer's exact requirements. |

 Integrated OEM Solutions
Many of Automotion's embedded OEM solutions involve integrating
our drives directly with our customer's control electronics, reducing both space and cost.
This high power single axis spindle module rated for 230 VAC input, 50A output, includes a
customer supplied spindle control card (top) integrated directly with our drive. The
entire module is shipped assembled and pre-tested, ready to install. |
